BEFORE ARRIVING
What should I wear for THE POLAR EXPRESS™?
Pyjamas of course! We encourage our guests to wear pyjamas and robes just as the characters did in the film! However, because it is winter and partially an outdoor event we ask guests to bring a warm coat, a brolly and wear sensible sturdy shoes. No slippers please! We are a working railway with some uneven floors and it can get a little muddy, we would hate for you to ruin your bunny rabbit slippers!
As you will be outside when boarding and departing THE POLAR EXPRESS™ we ask that you dress appropriately to the weather conditions.

What should I bring?
Don’t forget to bring your e-ticket with you. This will be emailed to you 1 week before your event date. You don’t have to print it, just make sure we can see it on your mobile phone.
For those of you who purchased The Polar Express storybook then please feel free to bring it with you to read along with the story on board and to ask Santa to sign it for you.
This is a magical experience that you will want to cherish forever, so we recommend bringing a camera. Be sure to share your best memories with us on our Twitter and Facebook profiles too so we can share the magic!
As you will be outside when boarding and departing THE POLAR EXPRESS™ we ask that you dress appropriate to the weather conditions.
Pushchairs
There are no facilities for pushchairs on the train. We advise guests to leave them in their car where possible. Any pushchairs brought to the station will be kept safely on the platform with our marshals until you return from the North Pole.

Disabled Guests, Wheelchair Users & those with Additional Needs
Unfortunately, due to the nature of the heritage carriages that we use, we are unable to accommodate wheelchairs on the train. If a wheelchair user is able to transfer to the train and use the provided seats we are happy to accommodate them and we will transfer their wheelchair from the boarding platform to the exit platform, however a wheelchair cannot be left on the train. We are sorry for this inconvenience.
For more information regarding what to expect for those with additional needs please click the link below...
Food & Drink
We have a wide variety of food and drink available at the station before you board the train ride.
Please note that no outside food or drink is permitted on the train. Wensleydale Railway / PNP Events reserves the right to refuse entry or remove anyone from the site who is behaving inappropriately.
On board, each guest will receive a sweet treat and a drink as part of the experience. If you need to bring an alternative due to dietary requirements or allergies, we do make exceptions — but this must be strictly for medical or dietary reasons.
Please see the link below for further information.
What if there is bad weather?
We will operate THE POLAR EXPRESS in all weathers and recommend you give yourself plenty of time to arrive at the railway. Unfortunately, we will be unable to hold a train to wait for you due to our tight schedule and if you miss your train there is no guarantee we could provide you with a seat on a later train. Please check our website and Facebook page before you leave for updates.
If the weather is so bad that we consider a risk for passengers to travel to us, we will cancel the event for the evening – we will email and text you to let you know. In the event that we have to cancel, tickets will be refunded. Unless we have decided to cancel, we will not be able to refund or move your tickets to another day.
